It's a family affair as Florida film fave Bill Kerwin (Blood Feast) portrays alcoholic mama's boy and virginal voyeur Ralph Higbee in his brother Harry's 1968 soft core comedy, co-written by brother Edmund with Wayne Campus Heat Rafferty. It's a barroom tall tale, told in flashback with mind-numbing narration, about the drunkard's disastrous dalliances with holy matrimony. And because it's '68, Ralph has hippie sex along with an LSD trip. With sightly stripper Bunny Ware (Mundo Depravados), Chris Scream Baby Scream Martell as a gorilla impersonator, and Florida flim-flam film fleecer Brad Grinter of Blood Freak infamy as bar patron "Doc Holliday."
Trailer Camp Sex Ring director Kemal Horilu's late-to-the-ball 1970 soft core feature stars Linda Boyce (Michael Findlay's Mnasidika and many other NYC crotch operas) as an aspirational hooker who uses an inheritance to become the madam of her own high-class brothel. The deal is cinched in a clinch with the former owner (Uta Erickson from Bacchanale), but trouble looms in the form of crooked cop Patrick Wright (Roller Boogie). With future porn star Kristen Steen (Alice In Wonderland), bad wigs, and ridiculous narration that attempts to frame the prurient proceedings as a "how to" procedural on opening a cathouse. Originally from Turkey, Horilu was given his initial directorial opportunities by nudie king Barry Mahon.
This sex comedy from German director Franz Marischka (Clattering Chastity Belts), filmed with a predominantly Italian cast and crew, features Willi Columbini (Hercules Unchained) as Archie, a starving artist who discovers a new way to decorate a canvas. His live-in girlfriend "Hong-Kong" is none other than Edwige Fenech (Dr. Jeckyll Likes Them Hot), the former "Miss Mannequin de la Cote d'Azur" and star of dozens of European gialli and sex comedies. With body painting, groan-inducing hippie caricatures, the director's wife as Fenech's rival for Archie, and music by Raimund Rosenberger (The Testament Of Dr. Mabuse). Jet-setting sleazemonger Dick Randall (Pieces) co-wrote, served as second unit director, and appears in a minor role.
Jackleg line reader Lucky Kargo (Two Girls For A Madman) stars as secret agent "Lucky Bang-Bang" in this threadbare 1967 spy spoof from the irrepressible Barry Mahon. Our intrepid investigator is tasked with busting up a blackmailing prostitution ring, led by corrupt Carol Kane (not the Hester Street star), with ties to foreign operatives and organized crime. The operations of the sex club take center stage, of course. With Dawn Bennett (Bad Girls Go To Hell) as Lucky's libidinous lover and a slew of beehive hairdos.
Explorer Lewis Cotlow (Savage Splendor) filmed his travels through Central and South America for this 1951 pseudo-ethnographic study of its inhabitants, ultimately landing on the feared, blowgun-wielding Jivaro people and their predilection for decapitating enemies and making tchochkes of the severed head. Despite claims of witnessing the Jivaro method of reducing the noggin of a nemesis to the size of an orange, Cotlow and crew managed to return home with hat sizes intact. In 1954 Cotlow wrote and published "Amazon Headhunters," an account of his experiences with the Jivaro.
Argentine firecracker Isabel Sarli and her Svengali, director Armando Bo, had already collaborated on eleven features when this 1966 black and white dermatological drama - which would make a dandy double bill for L'Avventura - appeared to further ignite the charges of obscenity they'd faced since 1957's brutal El trueno entre las hojas featuring a fully nude Sarli. The film was promptly banned at home but made international waves due to The Goddess' combustible carnality, leading to global attention for the pair's subsequent films such as Muhair (1967), Carne (1968), and Fuego (1969).
Carny entrepreneur David F. Friedman co-produced and co-starred in this 1963 nudie not-so-cutie, made the same year as his and director H. G. Lewis' influential Blood Feast. Florida movie mainstay Bill "Rooney" Kerwin (Strange Rampage) is millionaire Rick Bradshaw, who dreams of a woman he's never met. When restless Rick finally finds her in the flesh, she's busty stripper and nudist camp habitué Gina (Virginia "Ding Dong" Bell, busty stripper and spouse of writer and co-producer Leroy Griffith). The plot sickens when moneybags discovers that his dream girl is literally owned by miscreant manager Barney (Friedman)! With Joy Hodges (Lullaby Of Bareland), television writer Al Gordon (The Smothers Brothers Hour), and director Lewis' future partner and squeeze Louise "Bunny" Downe (The Gruesome Twosome).
This 1952 pre-hysterical camp fest from W. Merle Connell (The Flesh Merchant) dishes out Doris Merrick of The Neanderthal Man as Sandra, the hard-boiled high priestess of an Amazon cult whose Druid descendents somehow managed to emigrate to an uncharted Pacific island. Lyle Talbot (Plan Nine From Outer Space) and Mikel The Flying Saucer Conrad are featured along with loads of stock footage, costumed lizards from Hal Roach's bigger-budgeted One Million B.C. (1940), giant armadillos, and, as noted above, a high priestess named Sandra.
Arnold Louis Miller (London In The Raw) directed this 1961 mondo-style exposé that, like the old fart in the ad, leans in for a closer look at "professional sex" in strip clubs, brothels, and back-alley clip joints. It's mostly fabricated claptrap cooked up by Miller and producer Stanley Long (I Am A Groupie). With Andria Lawrence from Countess Dracula, Jan From Russia With Love Williams, and various members of Miller's family. It was banned in the U.K. by the British Board of Film Censors. Miller had previously run afoul of British censors by reprinting U.S. horror comics such as Tales From The Crypt.
