Writer/director Joel The Incredible Torture Show Reed's campy 1969 Career Bed stars future hardcore star Jennifer Welles as an emotionally abused young woman shopped around to predatory talent agents by her amoral stage manager mother (a hilarious Honey Hunter). With Georgina Spelvin (Centerspread Girls) as a lesbian talent agent, Ann Wells from The Headless Eyes, Charles Carlton Buffum (Robert Downey Sr.'s Putney Swope), John Cardoza (later a Christian Broadcasting Company film producer) as a film producer, and Reed himself as a sound technician. Featuring the undeniably catchy theme tune "Career Bed" credited to Vic Spina and the Lost Children.
