Producer/director Laurence Merrick of Merrick's Academy of Dramatic Arts only finished three films, one of which, the 1973 documentary Manson, was nominated for an Academy Award. This 1971 attempt at a horror comedy has been nominated by viewers as the worst vampire movie ever made, though its premise turned up eight years later in the successful George Hamilton comedy Love At First Bite. Des Roberts ("Chainer" from Merrick's Black Angels) is Count Adrien, son of Dracula and the impresario behind the nightclub "Dracula's Dungeon." He's in love with a leggy model named Angelica (Claudia Siefried from Lee Frost's The Scavengers), whose boyfriend will do anything to be a Hollywood star. Filmed at Hollywood's Magic Castle clubhouse. With Leslie McRay from Blood Orgy of the She-Devils, Angela Psycho From Texas Carnon, and ritualized lizard eating. Director Merrick was later murdered by one of his acting students.
